can you guys tell me what you think? i am planning to buy this for gw on high quality and for gw2 aswell so do you think its suitable?

I tend to steer clear of Dixons Group own brand stuff. Browse through http://www.novatech.co.uk and http://overclockers.co.uk and see what they have to offer. Almost anything there will be better than a Packard Bell.

Not to disparage the company too much (heh) but PC World are boxshifters. They will try to sell you whatever they have gathering dust and their knowledge of said products is severely lacking.

yes, it will play GW easily enough. GW2 might be stretching it a bit.

that graphic card is essentially a rebranded geforce 8800GS with more memory. it should be able to run GW, and probably GW2 at a decent setting later on.

do keep in mind that nobody have any idea what kind of requirements GW2 will have, especially since it's still 2 years from release. anet promised that it will be low, but no one knows for sure.

with all that said, i would still recommend building a computer yourself. you'll get much better components for lower prices, not to mention better quality.

anyways, building a computer is about as easy as playing with lego. read a few guides on the internet and you're ready to go.

you just have to ask them straight up. ask them if the chassis can accept standard ATX power supplies and motherboards.

unfortunately, it's a good bet that the salesperson won't know.

that second computer is more than enough, but if you want to buy for the future, then get something with a better graphics card, esp. if you want to play GW2 or other games that are a couple years or more away on high settings. I was looking at www.overclockers.co.uk a couple weeks ago when I was looking to get a new pc, and using their custom configurator I was getting allot more computer for that price. You should be able to get either allot more PC for 700 pounds, or an equal pc and a monitor too at least. Keep looking around and you will save some cash.

One thing that many people neglect to mention when asking if a computer will run Guild Wars, is the resolution of the monitor they are using (or plan to use). It takes a lot less graphics power to run GW at 1024x768 (old CRT or 15" LCD) than it does at 1680x1050 (20-22" widescreen LCD)

However, in many ways , the OP's second choice is similar to what I run (a Q6600 with a HD4870). I can run GW with maxed settings at 1680x1050 with the FPS pegged at 60 (vsynced) so, the OP's should be close to that. The first system seemed to include a 19" ws LCD which would probably run at 1440x900, requiring even less GPU power.

HI, i can upgrade the graphics card if needed so im kindve going to go for it...overclockers doesnt have a pc with a monitor & keyboard that beats the pc's stats at £700.

That should run GW just fine...but since no one knows what GW2's requirements will be yet, that is tough to say. We don't know how much the requirements will rise, though we know they will.
